I have been cruising through home improvement projects while we're on COVID 19 lockdown, and this week was no exception. We have picked up the winter kill and had several good controlled burns, as well as our yearly spring battle with invasive porcelain vine and its ho...

This is not a recipe post. I haven't eaten chicken in more than two decades. It's a tribute to my quest to make sure my girls get their daily greens.

Philosophically, I have battled with the concept of quality vs. quantity of life in my chicken-keeping, and for ye...

It takes human beings a little more than sixty days to adapt to a new normal, even if that normal is less than ideal. (Here's the science behind it: https://jamesclear.com/new-habit) 66 days to be exact.

Yesterday, we hit 66 days, as our house in specific has been...

This week has been a lot of fun for Finn--we started puppy school at Y2K9, went to the barn for playdates with our barnyard friends, watched Phoenix have his feet done, and yes, after all this, a bath and lots of naps.

Finn, 11.5 weeks, meets Topaz, the 13 week old Ma...

2018 was a difficult year for Hoffmans in so many ways, but particularly for our pets. It began January of last year, with Theodorable "Teddy" Sunrise's devastating diagnosis of a rare seizure disorder and his ultimate, humane passing on January 26, 2018. The...

We've had multiple snow days and late starts and cozy winter house time this week, so of course, we turned to the kitchen and baking projects. I'll do the recipe for homemade New York style bagels, and in a future feature, Piper will blog is about her favorite go-to de...

It all started with our Instacart driver thieving a week's worth of Aldi groceries. We had decided as work demands amped us for both that the $12 convenience surcharge was worth saving two hours of grocery shopping time. I populated the online order with all the usual...

CHANDRA

I’ve read many articles recently about the futility of setting resolutions—how the gym attendance or vow to avoid caffeine slip away before the most recent snow melts. But with the start of every new page of a day planner, there’s possibility to tick all the bo...

Sorry to all the naysayers and winter haters--I LOVE a good snowstorm and winter weather. Throw in some outdoor hockey at our local rink, (above) a few dogs to romp with, the anticipation of Christmas, cousins and a cozy house to come home to, and I'm giddy.

Twenty years ago, a boy and girl fell in love on an island in the Caribbean. He led underwater eco-tours for a marine biology lab; she trained horses for sunset beach rides. Together, we traveled the world, got married, settled down and had babies.

After ten years of suburbia, hockey practice and commuting, we returned to our island roots as a family, where he built an eco-resort; she wrote books and homeschooled. We swam with wild dolphins and whale sharks, watched octopus eggs hatch, rolled handmade bagels and created art from driftwood and beach debris.

Back in the USA, with lessons from the simple lifestyle in mind, we launched Hoffman's Natural to share products that we have created to be natural, organic and safe for your family, home and pets. Love .....from our house to your house.
